Are You Ready to Create Art With Confidence, Discover Your Unique Style & Make Work That You Love?

Hello friend,

I know what you’re thinking.

'Where the heck do I even start?'

You’re an artist.

You want to gain the skills you need to make the kind of work that you dream of. You want to draw with confidence, develop your own ‘voice’ and, make the kind of art that you can (and should) be proud of.

The fact is...

There are a million pieces of art-making information out there.

Trying to put them all together in a way that makes sense can be overwhelming and depressing.

The gap between where you are now and where you want to be can sometimes feel like it’s too much work to surmount.

And, the truth is you don’t know what you don’t know.

Without the right instruction, you could end up spinning your wheels for years.

I know a little something about that. You see...

I’ve been in exactly your shoes.

I had the drive and the determination. All I needed was the proper information and guidance. It was only through one-on-one instruction with world-class mentors that I finally gained the clarity that I needed.

If I could do it, if your heroes could do it, then YOU can too.

You see…

Art is a CRAFT.

Now, every craft worth pursuing takes three crucial things…

  • Time
  • Dedication
  • (and most importantly) Proper Guidance

The truth is that there is zero magic involved in getting better.

(Well, only a little magic…)

There's only focused work over a dedicated period of time, guided by evergreen principles.

Now, this might not help me sell any classes, but I’m going to let you in on a little secret…

Q&A

  • Can I learn this material elsewhere?

The goal with MAKE YOUR MARK is to cut through the insane amount of noise on the internet and present only the best, most evergreen, and practical principles of picture-making. Sure, you could probably cobble together something comparable over months and years of reading, looking and stumbling around…but you’ll have wasted a ridiculous amount of time.

Now don’t get me wrong…

Youtube tutorials are fantastic. Books are pure gold. TikTok tips and Instagram hacks have their place. But each of them resides in a quagmire of distractions and while you may be looking for one bit of information in particular on any of these digital sources, it’s a near guarantee that you’ll have flown off to the far corners of the internet once the day is through.

Time is precious.

Information is valuable.

Allow me to share with you ONLY the best of the best information, gathered from some of the best artists to ever live (past & present) and offer it to you in an easy-to-digest, immediately implementable form. MAKE YOUR MARK is all killer, no filler.

  • This is too expensive for a beginner!

Really now?

According to this article from 2018 (https://studentloanhero.com/featured/cost-per-credit-hour-study/) the average college credit hour is worth about $594.

I’m not sure about you, but how much value have you squeezed from the typical hour in a college class? How much of those sixty minutes is comprised of pure fluff, nose picking, and waiting around for someone to come to a point? I think you see my point. None of that is worth anywhere near the $600 price tag attached.

Mind you, this isn’t even talking about art schools, this is an average gathered from all sorts of colleges...

You can absolutely jack up that price if we’re talking about a place like the Pratt Institute or RISD or Ringling.

Fine institutions all, but the point stands.

MAKE YOUR MARK is a little over an hour and a half and cram-jammed from minute one with enough information to pad out four separate classes over the course of a full semester. Well worth the $150 for totally evergreen information that you will absolutely rewatch and learn more and more from upon further viewings.

  • I feel like I’ve heard this all before…

There’s a reason for that.

Fundamentals are fundamental. They were true a thousand years ago, in 1892 and in 2021. The core principles of picture-making haven’t changed. Only our mediums, subject matter, and mode of presentation have.

  • How long will it take to get as good as XYZ?

That’s completely up to you. Rembrandt didn’t pop out of the womb painting like Rembrandt. He put in his hours. He apprenticed. He studied. He painted his little Dutch butt off and eventually discovered his unique voice.

It’s impossible to guarantee a rate of improvement in the arts (or any field, frankly) because it’s entirely dependent on how quickly and often you implement what you learn.

Luckily, I teach a few ways to habituate all of this so that the doing itself becomes a pleasure instead of a chore.

  • Is this a class on illustration?

Not necessarily, although all of the craft-based skills I discuss are 1,000,000,000% applicable to any form of commercial art. Many of the examples used are also lifted from the great practitioners of illustration. Art is art at the end of the day. What it winds up being used for is secondary to the mindset and skill behind its creation.

  • What kind of materials will I need?

Whichever you feel most comfortable with. There is no set materials list. In fact, I urge you to experiment widely.

  • Will I learn anything about building a career in the arts?

This is a class focused on skills and fundamentals.

Building a career in illustration (or otherwise) is outside of its scope, but who knows what the future holds?

  • How do I know you’re for real?

I’ve learned from some of the absolute best artists in the world via programs like the Illustration Academy- folks like George Pratt, John English, Brent Watkinson, Edward Kinsella, Jeffrey Alan Love, Gary Kelley, C.F. Payne, Anita Kunz, Mark English, Francis Livingston and many more.

I’ve worked as an illustrator with some fantastic clients across a few industries, with a focus on fashion and comics. Brands like AMIRI, IH NOM UH NIT, ORO, and more have commissioned my work for various purposes, and publishers like BOOM! Studios and IDW have utilized my art in comic form. I’ve built my own brand of illustrated apparel, NOIR INC., self-published my own graphic novel, created stacks of over 1000+ fashion illustrations across the past several years, and have built a combined audience of nearly 30k people across platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.

If that’s not enough to convince you that I know my stuff, I invite you to take a look at any of my social media platforms or my portfolio site.
