MAKE GREAT ART & BUILD A POWERFUL BRAND
Are you ready to master the skills needed to THRIVE as an artist today?
There are two things that every artist MUST master if they’re to make a dent in the world today.
First - craft.
Without your hand skills, you’re nothing. Unless you understand the vocabulary of art-making ( composition, color, value, anatomy, edges, etc.) you will never be fully fluent in the language of creativity.
To be frank, there's a host of well-meaning but misleading crap online. It’s the blind leading the blind.
Second - a personal brand.
The fact is, the gatekeepers of yesterday are gone.
Galleries do not hold the prominence they once did, art directors are no longer the intermediaries between a creator and their audience.
We have social media. We have the ability to attract, create for and sell to a dedicated group of people that are fiercely loyal and eager to enjoy the fruits of your labor.
However, unless you understand how to cultivate an audience and build a robust personal brand, you will never fully capitalize on the opportunities that lie within your pocket.
The smart artist knows that they must attack both simultaneously and with vigor.
They must become fully conversant with the FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLES that underpin both craft and marketing.
Unfortunately, there’s a whole lot of crap online these days.
Questionable Youtube ‘gurus’ painting anime girls and advising young artists on how to render eyeballs. TikTok fadsters chasing the next viral sound hoping to blow up.
These folks are missing the point.
They’re building on a foundation of clay.
Unless you understand how to ACTUALLY create work that lasts the test of time, work based on time-honored principles that have served artists from Leonardo da Vinci to Norman Rockwell, you will always wonder why the art you create is missing that ‘certain something.’
There is in fact, a RIGHT and a WRONG way to make pictures.
There are canonical principles that create compelling art. There is a language that every picture maker must learn in order to communicate with their audience.
In MAKE YOUR MARK, I teach you these principles.
They’ve been passed on to me by long dead makers from past as well as contemporary masters in the fields of illustration and fine art. Men and women whose work has delighted audiences for decades and who easily sit in the pantheon of great 20th century artists.
They’ve been solidified by a lifetime of art making and over ten years as a freelance illustrator. The art that I’ve created has spread throughout social media and helped me to cultivate a robust personal brand of dedicated fans.
It has helped me to connect with clients, sell original work and educate & inspire a host of young creators worldwide.
In BRANDED, I teach you how to build such an audience with your work.
Every maker today has the opportunity to go directly to the source. There are no more middlemen. The artist who understands this has the opportunity to carve out their own unique, self-sustaining niche.
There is more than enough attention and interest online for well-made, compelling art and folks who have spent the time to master their craft DESERVE to enjoy a slice of the pie.
This is the age of the personal brand.
You see it across disciplines. Everyone is an ‘influencer’ today, whether you realize it or not. The difference between the herd and YOU is that you actually have something of value to share...
Your ART.
Art is net positive for the world. Expressing your creativity and choosing to be someone who BUILDS instead of simply consuming is an act of DEFIANCE.
In an age when everyone is more interested in their next hit of dopamine than in producing a body of work that stands the test of time, you as an ARTIST are a shining paragon of excellence and an example to others.
You BUILD.
You are ACTIVE.
You’re not just a participant…you’re an ARCHITECT of reality.
Understanding this and learning how to use your work and your personality to attract a group of likeminded people via social media is a crucial skill in today’s world.
Thoroughly mastering these twin disciplines of creation and promotion will unlock a limitless world of possibilities for you.
Recognition, community, self-confidence, profit and pride…
All of these await the smart artist who chooses to master their craft build their brand online.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN in the DEMO BUNDLE:
Expressing a personal point of view is the entire purpose of making art.
It’s saying something ONLY YOU can say within this visual medium.
No one else sees the world in quite the same way that you do. Each subject reveals itself slightly differently, and the things you choose to emphasize or discard are completely unique to your tastes and discretion. There is no right or wrong, only what appeals to your innate sense of poetry and aesthetics.
With that in mind, this bundle of short-form demonstrations (previously available only through my shuttered Patreon) shares my own unique spin on subject matter and materials.
Inside these demonstrations, you’ll learn more about…
- Using destruction to create
- When and how I pencil things before inking
- The benefits of starting a piece from scratch if it doesn’t go your way the first time
- How using media that’s tough to control leads to unexpectedly cool results
- Rolling with the punches both challenges, instructs and informs every subsequent move
- Reacting to reference and interpreting photography as opposed to literal copying
- The joys of working without a net
F.A.Q.
Can I learn this material elsewhere?
The goal with MAKE YOUR MARK is to cut through the insane amount of noise on the internet and present only the best, most evergreen, and practical principles of picture-making. Sure, you could probably cobble together something comparable over months and years of reading, looking and stumbling around…but you’ll have wasted a ridiculous amount of time.
Now don’t get me wrong…
Youtube tutorials are fantastic. Books are pure gold. TikTok tips and Instagram hacks have their place. But each of them resides in a quagmire of distractions and while you may be looking for one bit of information in particular on any of these digital sources, it’s a near guarantee that you’ll have flown off to the far corners of the internet once the day is through.
Time is precious.
Information is valuable.
Allow me to share with you ONLY the best of the best information, gathered from some of the best artists to ever live (past & present) and offer it to you in an easy-to-digest, immediately implementable form. MAKE YOUR MARK is all killer, no filler.
This is too expensive for a beginner!
Really now?
According to this article from 2018 (https://studentloanhero.com/featured/cost-per-credit-hour-study/) the average college credit hour is worth about $594.
I’m not sure about you, but how much value have you squeezed from the typical hour in a college class? How much of those sixty minutes is comprised of pure fluff, nose picking, and waiting around for someone to come to a point? I think you see my point. None of that is worth anywhere near the $600 price tag attached.
Mind you, this isn’t even talking about art schools, this is an average gathered from all sorts of colleges...
You can absolutely jack up that price if we’re talking about a place like the Pratt Institute or RISD or Ringling.
Fine institutions all, but the point stands.
MAKE YOUR MARK is a little over an hour and a half and cram-jammed from minute one with enough information to pad out four separate classes over the course of a full semester. Well worth the $150 for totally evergreen information that you will absolutely rewatch and learn more and more from upon further viewings.
I feel like I’ve heard this all before…
There’s a reason for that.
Fundamentals are fundamental. They were true a thousand years ago, in 1892 and in 2021. The core principles of picture-making haven’t changed. Only our mediums, subject matter, and mode of presentation have.
How long will it take to get as good as XYZ?
That’s completely up to you. Rembrandt didn’t pop out of the womb painting like Rembrandt. He put in his hours. He apprenticed. He studied. He painted his little Dutch butt off and eventually discovered his unique voice.
It’s impossible to guarantee a rate of improvement in the arts (or any field, frankly) because it’s entirely dependent on how quickly and often you implement what you learn.
Luckily, I teach a few ways to habituate all of this so that the doing itself becomes a pleasure instead of a chore.
Are these classes on illustration?
Not necessarily, although all of the craft-based skills I discuss are 1,000,000,000% applicable to any form of commercial art. Many of the examples used are also lifted from the great practitioners of illustration. Art is art at the end of the day. What it winds up being used for is secondary to the mindset and skill behind its creation.
What kind of materials will I need?
Whichever you feel most comfortable with. There is no set materials list. In fact, I urge you to experiment widely.
Will I learn anything about building a career in the arts?
Everything you learn in MAKE YOUR MARK will help you tremendously when building a personal brand online. BRANDED will teach you how to do exactly that.
How do I know you’re for real?
I’ve learned from some of the absolute best artists in the world via programs like the Illustration Academy- folks like George Pratt, John English, Brent Watkinson, Edward Kinsella, Jeffrey Alan Love, Gary Kelley, C.F. Payne, Anita Kunz, Mark English, Francis Livingston and many more.
I’ve worked as an illustrator with some fantastic clients across a few industries, with a focus on fashion and comics. Brands like AMIRI, IH NOM UH NIT, ORO, and more have commissioned my work for various purposes, and publishers like BOOM! Studios and IDW have utilized my art in comic form. I’ve built my own brand of illustrated apparel, NOIR INC., self-published my own graphic novel, created stacks of over 1000+ fashion illustrations across the past several years, and have built a combined audience of over 30k people across platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
If that’s not enough to convince you that I know my stuff, I invite you to take a look at any of my social media platforms or my portfolio site.
